me experience that also. i was walking in front of cathedral church when someone approach me, student from low lands based on what he said, uttering he is a volunteer of one christian group ( i don't remember exactly the name of their ass'n). He was handing me a card w/ a picture of Mother Mary on it and asking for a donation, anything and whatever i can contribute. So i gave him 20 box. and for that moment, he said that the card he gave is worth 50 box... damn.. di ko alam kung maiinis ako or matatawa.
One day, me and a friend decided to cut through Burnham Park in going to Session Road from Rizal Park. While walking, someone gave us 2 pictures of Jesus Christ in a frame. He said "God bless you" and that such items are free. Well, its free so we decided to receive it. After reading to us several verses from the Bible while walking, he asked for a donation. I willingly handed him 20 pesos. However, he doesn't want to accept the 20-peso bill and said the pictures were worth 50 pesos each. I told him we will return the pictures because we don't have 100 pesos. He was very insistent and annoying. He always say its a donation and for a good cause and that we cannot return the pictures anymore. After several annoying minutes of him uttering blasphemous stuff just to sell the picture in a donation pitch, my friend said ok! ok! ok! and gave him a hundred pesos. LOL donation daw e pilitan naman yun. Doing your business in the name of God in the wrong manner
I can remember so well like it was only yesterday... We always meet up at La Azotea in Session Rd. before goings to gimiks around baguio. The years were late 90's and early 2000s, whenever anybody or someone arrives and wait, or dimply passes by La Azotea, someone will immediately approach you and ask you is you want to be rich. These people were from, FLP (forever lying people hihihi), crystal mansion, gold quest etc. They will try their best to recruit you showing you luxury cars and checks with millions in amount. Sad to say, one of my cousins fell victim to this schema. Pyramiding is illegal and I hope it is not existent anymore.
Do you remember them? Do you have any experiences with them? You can name them here and tell your experiences? It will be a very useful information for many people. I heard they moved their operations online. If you have encounters with them, tell us. Mag ingat po, baka magansyo hehehe.
