TOPIC: taxes the lifeblood of the government

taxes the lifeblood of the government 5 years, 9 months ago #10020

Amongst this time, many people have been complaining about their taxes. Well, its quite true that almost all laborers are breaking their backs to earn a decent living with whatever work they have for the moment. And come those times when employees groan when their payslips projects the deductions of taxes. I in my own opinion have no objections with taxes (but I often groan and the reason is obvious), taxes are used by the government as a source of income to generate the general welfare of the people. And by hell I will be smiling to pay my taxes if I can go to a good hospital for free because my taxes says so. But I guess reality downgrades the value of my hard earned money for taxes. I guess we don't get the maximum benefits out of the taxes we pay.

As my professor in college said : "the government has the power to destroy and that power goes along with the power to tax". Its quite a weird paraphrase but going deeper through its meaning is as destructive as paying your tax.

By the way, I'd like to post a question: "WHO HAS THE AUTHORITY TO COMPUTE THE EMPLOYEES' TAxes????" Please tell me if you know.

yup. taxation in the Philippines is good in the theoretical sense. When you read all those memorandum orders and circulars being issued out by the government, you'll have a sense of contentment on how our taxes are managed. But as I have said it is only theoretical. Heck I have to buy my shoes because the roads aint that good!!!1  :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

According to one of my teachers before, "There are two things that are certain here in this world... TAXES and DEATH." It is inevitable, we live and die with it. The funny thing is even if your dead, you still have estate tax.

I have no complains about tax collecting although i know the blatant truth that it is where these TRAPOs get their riches. I just want to maintain the ideal that a part of it is put to good use. Without this, I think i'll go berserk and destroy all those inhumanoids governing our society.

Tax...why should I pay taxes to a government that can not even guarantee me the basics?  Food, health care, transportation, a "just" justice system!!!  I would like to believe otherwise but it seems that this country's system is going to the dogs...if it ain't there yet as it is.
We are who we are because we choose to be so.  Anything worthwhile in this world requires nothing but focus and passion....I guess I got both of those....

in the first place , we live in a place where we either become subservient or a rebellion of some supposed system... whatever that is...  if we can't lick them, and we dont wanna join them, them there no other way than get out of their way... unless we wanna be crushed.

who computes? who knows? as long as theyre following the right thread, i dont think it does matter...  we could at least ask, for instance.

Isn't it that the BIR gives a lay out in the implementation of everyone's income tax?

First of all, you have the right to complain about paying taxes because the government is not using the taxes to it's purpose. Second, taxes are paid because it is used to pay for the roads, better quality hospitals, better quality schools and many more. It is suppose to be used to build the well being of the people and the nation. It should be used to improve the social security system, and government benefits for its people,  unfortunately the government squandered the money it is a disgrace isn't it? Who would be happy to pay taxes if they know it  is a for the government to make themselves rich? Totaly unfair and unacceptable behaviour shame on them (except for those  few honest in the government.)

I think the younger generation of today should be trained and schooled to be in the politics  to replaced all those corrupt public servants in the government I think this is the best solution to change the Philippine government as well as the economic. what do you say folks??

The person who should and is authorized to compute the taxe is the person who is paying the tax or  you can go to the tax accountant for help if you can't/don't know how to compute your tax.
Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.

i pay my monthly tax coz i am obliged to, although i alwyas check on that pay slip that im paying voluntarily  . the government migt be using those collected tax to some projects but its true, like what most of have said, they are just consuming it up to other things, and we all know what these things are.

but then, we [the taxpayers] chose to be underdogs of this system. of course we have other choices, but we think being under this tax system is better than being chased by guns.

intayo ketdi agmula ti kamote jay ili, life is simple, no tax, no hassles, no guns.
