Exchange handy info on how to teach, or more importantly how to avoid appearing stupid when difficult questions are asked by your students. E.G. When confonted by a difficult question simply let that question serve as the students homework.
I'm so amazingly clever that I often have to give up trying to understand what I'm saying.

Whenever you inadvertently commit mistakes, tell them you're only human.
Today is yesterday tomorrow.

if you're asking for example of emergencies, and a student can't think of the right words so he makes a circle with his thumb and index finger on one hand and inserts the index finger from other hand into aforementioned hole, and says "man like this, stuck", you might think the meaning is pretty obvious. However if you then write "sex with small objects on the board", you will be wrong. its obviously a man falling into an open pit. duh

... websites abound with many teaching forums and advices from professional esl teachers...

in my case, I rely on wit... smile.. and say  "you got me there!"

then immediate shift to the point of your lesson...

it would be rarely that a student asks a difficult question if only we prepare for it (all the ins and outs of our lesson)

if youre caught off guard, delaying tactics would do the trick.
with echoes of deliverance....

Best solution is to be prepared all the time before  entering  the classroom. If it's unavoidable  of mental blocked tell them that's for homework. Let's face it sometimes the student's are more researched oriented than the teacher? joke ...but i'm sure all of you teachers here at BPC are very smart and talented.
Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.
