Certain organization and societies  could be very delicate. Being so, sometimes its risky to make some claims or  statements. 

Anonymity therefore has become useful  for on-line discussions which involve sensitive issues and in some ways this  could also prevent public ridicule or censure brought about by public intolerance.

More than ever, anonymity is the most effective expression of freedom. That's why it could be asserted that it gives people an outlet for opinions, even contentious ones.

As a catharsis, this  also allows people to ventilate their sentiments without physically hurting anyone. 

People in the forum are, in some way or another,  anonymous  because of the inherent characteristics of the medium.

As a clincher, postings by anonymous writers are necessarily more judged on the merit of their sense than the names attached to the message.

being an enigma certainly has it's strong points especially if people go paranoid and start to shapen their pitchforks and go on a witch hunt.

sometimes it is risky to make statements, especially in an environment where the truth is often shunned until it forces itself to be realized.

anonymity therefore has become a useful tool or overcoming one's fear to present false ideas as facts by reducing the chance of being proven wrong.

more than ever, anonymity is an effective tool to get ideas out there, to get people talking. unfortunately it also is a tool to refute the truth based on claimed but otherwise unobservable 'facts'. anonymity is the most effective expression of fear.

as a catharsis, this also allows people to ventilate without needing to worry that anyone will know they are mad, and thus NOT promoting a solution to that which makes them need to vent in the first place.

people in the forum are anonymous only to the degree they choose to be. or to the degree irresponsible and malicious posters allow them to be by posting others' true names without need or permission. thus robbing them of the anonymity them themselve cherish so dearly.

as a clincher, postings by anonymous writers are judged without the benefit of being associated with an individual's credibility. this is only beneficial to the author if their credibility is lacking, which of course they will claim is not the case, but we will never know (unless we take their word for it).

yup yup yup its great to be anonymous sometimes. It just give us the sense of security to voice out the things we want to throw out. I remember those times when we had mission orders to hit something and nobody knew who did it hahahahahaha. Now that's anonimity - the cloak of shadows.
