I think there are shops in SM that offer installment, not sure if they require it through credit card though. I think I also saw one advertisement at Midland.

Installment? We can give you one, but first my wife and i wanted to know your specifications so we could give you your desired box. How can we contact you? and how will you pay us? Pm me or post your reply here.

i don't have a job yet so i can give you only a good track record of my mum from smart paying bills and her planned cell phone over this past 5 or 4 years i guess... she's already got 2 smart planned cellphone and 1 globe planned cellphone from that years.  I only want to upgrade my processor from 2GHz to 3GHz.  Is this sufficient enough detaile to acquire your services?

If you will just do an upgrade of your processor then we can't help you. We offer installment but not by parts. Its by set or a CPU only without the monitor, keyboard and mouse.

One thing more if you plan to upgrade your processor you need to check your board if it supports your planned processor and your RAM too. Most of the 3Ghz processors are pinless socket LGA775 and up.

Someone asks me:
After having a P3 1Ghz for over 3 years, I've decided I want to upgrade. Now, I'm aiming for 3Ghz as of right now, and I have different choices for this. I'm obviously going with Intel. We have the following:

INTEL P4 PRESCOTT 3.0EG/800/1M/S478
INTEL P4 530J HT 3.0G/800/1M/LGA775

The difference in price between them is not significant. My question is, is it worth it to go with Socket 775?

I believe, if I'm not mistaken, that the new line of 775 processors are 64 bit, much like the athlon64's. This could come in handy in the future. I'm aware that yes, Intel will probably drop its 478 line of P4s soon, and work solely on 775, and that would mean possibilities of upgrading would be limited. However, I will probably not upgrade again for some time, so this is no problem for me.

And finally, is the 775 line better for speed when compared to the same clockspeed in 478?

My answer:
Things to consider: The 478 is more friendly to overclocking if you don't intend to get a prescott above 3.2. The 775 has a faster bus which can get a prescott above 3.6+, depending on which core you go with (915 vs. 925) faster RAM in the form of DDR2 on the 925 and the dual core processors are only available on Socket 775. As you pointed out the 775 is the friendlier for future upgrades (has up to 1066 FSB) and it sports the latest graphics interface PCI-Express. You might feel that upgrades are of no importance now, but you also don't want to have to shell out for a completely new system AGAIN two years from now. This is why I chose the 775 over the 478. You're right, the prices aren't that different, so why go with last years components? Go with the 775 purely for future considerations, you never know how you may feel down the road.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Take considerations first before you upgrade but the choice is all yours. Just giving some inputs...

If you really do know then you know what to do then.. the answer is written in my previous post.  This is the only thing i can help you with since i can't help you with the installment.

I don't think you can still find new Socket 476 processors for sale, and if you can find one it's probably more expensive than the new models, sort of like how old SDR and DDR modules are more expensive than DDRII.

I suggest you go for a new motherboard and processor, a socket AM2 MB and Athlon 64 X2 3800 would only cost around 7k and that's more powerful any Intel Pentium 4, Pentium D, Core Duo (up to E6320) available here right now. Not to mention that AMD units consume less power.

Regarding installment payment, I think they only offer that for packaged units.

There are lots of motherboards to choose from with AGP and/or PCIE. AM2 supports DDR2 only though. But DDR2 now are so cheap.

tnx   If your asking what I'm i gonna do with 3GHz?  I'm a PC game enthusiast.  My problem with my computer to gain high end graphics is to have 2 promising upgrades.  One is to upgrade my processor and two is to upgrade my RAM memory to 2GB.  I know it's kinda stupid but i rather have a PC than buying a console which every 3 years they produce a new console while if you have a PC you just upgrade or add on to something.

I've been browsing from internet and from shops here in Baguio... i did not find any motherboards that has AGP and PCI-E slots and the processor socket is LG775

Enigma -
LGA 775 DUALCORE MAINBOARDS
INTEL D946GZABL 1066/ VGA/ DDR2/ PCI-E         4,050
INTEL D945GCCRL VGA/ LAN/ 800/ PCIE/ DDR2  3,450
ASROCK 775i65G VGA/ DDR/ AGP/ LAN                2,200

If you need both AGP and PCIE, I think those models are obsolete since Crossfire. And I thought you said you're looking for a socket 478 processor, if so you might want to try used/surplus shops like Sigmatech or ID-29.

Thats why i posted my previous post so that you will have ideas. if you stick to your socket 478 after 2 yrs you will change your unit. Since you wanted to upgrade choose the best option so that you can upgrade again later. Not the whole unit but some parts only. There are a lot of stores selling LGA775 boards. SM, Centermall, Enigma... walk.. dont rely on the net kasi di lahat ng com shop sa baguio may website... take August's advice as one of your options.... there are a lot of mboards with both agp and PCI-e slots...
