Which do you think is better, GeForce or Radeon?

G forces are cool, and something you'll subject your video card to when the drivers are buggy. ??? Radeon sounds like something you shouldn't stand too close to if you want to have children.

Anyway, right now i've upgraded to GeForce from Radeon and i don't see any big difference.

Re: Video cards 5 years, 11 months ago #87

Both are great, I really can't say what's better cause both developers upgrade their products often, and sometimes it depends on what company who releases their products...

Both are great and does thier task well. Radeon does give the performance as Gforce does the only difference is Gforce works on any platform (windows, linux, bsd, etc) well, but radeon sucks.

well both cards are good... the difference is slight... the thing is gforce supports more application than radeon... but if you like a faster acceleration or transfer rate... go for radeon ^^

I am using different video cards in my network depending on what the PC are used for.
In my Animation & NLE PC's I use what I consider to be the #1 Video Card.

MSI GeForce 8800GTX Video Card

# Chipset: GeForce 8800 GTX
# Engine Clock: 575 MHz
# Video Memory: 768MB DDR3
# Memory Clock: 1.8 GHz
# Memory Interface: 384-bit
# Bus: PCI Express x16
# RAMDAC: 400 MHz
# Connectors: Dual DVI (Support Dual VGA ouput); TV-out (HDTV ready)
# Thermal: Fansink
# nVidia SLI Technology support
# Microsoft DirectX 10.0 Shader Model 4.0 and OpenGL 2.0 support
# Support HDCP - High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection

all of your question on benchmark b/w Nvidia and Radeon are based on Games that are well supported.  For example if you start the game and the game runs... when you see an intro like "Plays well in Nvidia or ATI" that means that game is supported by Nvidia or ATI radeon.  And BTW, today ATI is on top to Video Card chip because of the new release of HD2900 card.

That monster's power supply requirements could probably run a whole PC.

Right now I'm using a GeForce 7300GT which is just enough for my requirements, had to hold back on that.

i have a friend who bought RADEON EAH2900XT and he had a problem with it so he called me.  He plugged the video card but it didn't run so i helped out... i noticed that his powersupply is generic and his powersupply has no 2x3 or 2x4 pin, this are needed because of the Video card required pin.  But that is not the problem... the video card does not support generic power supply, the card supports only genuine power supply.  Mine is genuine from intel so i lend it to him for a period of time until he bought his own genuine power supply.

Sure. So you need a good power supply to run the system. Mine is a THERMALTAKE Toughpower 1500W. Model W0171. That should be sufficient.

Does anyone have a SLI video card setup and in use?

If so how does it compare to using one video card, and which two video cards are you using?

Im switching my system over to SLI on friday when the new cards come in, just looking to get some information from people who actually have it done already.

Re: Video cards 1 year, 8 months ago #82297

I think it will depend on the model
