shocked to see an igorot... what he knows of the physical appearance is that...igorots are ......."...""..."".or whatever he likes to say in short ugly..

Yeah that's a common misconception about Igorots specially for ignorant lowlanders who haven't even been here. I've had more than enough of this racism when I stayed at some tagalog province, and until now I occasionally see lowlander students with this ignorance... at our own territory.

They think all Igorots are supposedly ugly, primitive people with the whole traditional get-up with g-strings, spears and all. They don't know we still do that on occasion since it's part of our heritage, which they don't have.

These ignorant people use the word Igorot to make fun of people like it's some bad adjective. Makes me mad and want to educate them, after punching them in the face.

we had a physical confrontation w/ my co-worker for these reason. Incident happen when we are drinking and out of nowhere, these guy is talking non-sense about igorot. i'm not yet drunk that time so walang kiyeme i slap him in the face saying 'bro wala namang bastusan'... he realize that time that me is an igorot.... poor boy mayabang kasi yan tuloy nakatikim

every time na may nangyayari tas involve ang highlander, usually they will quote "igorot kasi".... tingnan ko itsura nila pare-pareho lang naman. mas may itsura pa tayong hi-lander...

Yeah it becomes even more laughable if the one who's talking crap is bluuhh.

I remember one time we met another one of these types of racists at Red Lion. We just came from some other place so we were a bit drunk. We could hear this girl-man talking crap about Igorots from their table and my co-worker back then couldn't take it and went to talk to the girl-man, who in turn bragged that she/he/it was related to some Pangasinan mayor.

Things got ugly and my drunken self also joined in. I couldn't remember much but luckily 0verlord was there and sent me home on a taxi before the police came to pick everyone up.

it only shows how ignorant they are. they should study the word RESPECT. bottom line

its good they didn't tell those words while in baguio coz we as the minorities can file a case... against them,,,but lets just have the jungle rule,,,saktan mo na agad,,, ...no justice din lang,,,, pEro GAlit Ako HA,,,,sa mga taOng ganyang ang tingin sa mga IGOROT<<<IF yoU say so na IGOrots are not HUmans well they are GODS and GODDESSES,,, pEAce Out<,,

Hehe they just need to be educated. Through this site we can show people what we really are and free these people from their ignorance.

Ahhh I love this topic. Wait till you see the look on their faces when you tell them you are Igorot. Their lifetime of ignorance suddenly replaced with awe and a big question mark...priceless. And you rub it in by being the best in your job. That's what I did. No offense to the others..that is meant for the ignorant ones only.

What I did was to sapak them with English and watch them sweat answering back with all their ahhmmms and ahhhs. once again, i'm not talking about everyone here. just the ignorant people.

I'm not ignorant anymore, lol! =) I was surprised that Igorots specially the female, they look stunning, The first time I went to Baguio and my hubby pointed to a girl and said she's an Igorot, I was shocked!

I couldn't believe it, hehe.. I envy their beauty, lol.
