Would you believe if someone told you "forever"? Does it exist? Or just a false hope or assurance?

"Forever" always depends on us. We are the ones who make forever.... It was not just made for assurance but forever is something one holds onto.. believes on... having the word forever in our lives depends on us.. we are the ones who make "forever".

Good point... But we also lose our memories. It's not actually forever. There are many instances that we lose our memories either accidentally or deliberately.

How? There are many external factors to consider than just believing. If we hold onto something sometimes that something doesn't hold on to us. In the end, we end up giving up.

That's what i meant with my statement  .. it depends on us... that's one example....

Losing memories is a choice, either u decide  to cherish or forget the past, once i burned all the things he gave me to forget everything.. it didn't help.. there's always sumthin u'll see that will remind you of the past.. & they'll remind u forever..

How I wish that was true! Memories fade even if you don't want them too. If you're talking about relationships, maybe you'd still remember how you felt back then (although you might not feel it anymore) but you won't always remember all the fine details that made you feel that way.

there's no such thing as "forever" only a "lifetime"...coz things won't last forever but could  last for a lifetime....(ano daw?)

It means forever has ended because you're holding on to nothing. No matter how hard you lead yourself to believe that you can have forever, when there's nothing there... It's just a pigment of your imagination.

So, you're trying to say that it'll stay forever in your memories? How good is that? For example when you say "forever" to someone you mean the memories? I think memories are not enough. The longer we hold on to a memory, it fades... It becomes distorted. Some facts are removed and some facts are added. Our memories our not reliable... That's an awful truth.  :

I was just reacting to gir's post on forever involving memories. If I am to react to your question of if forever exists in a sense that when someone says it then well I have to say that I think it's more of wishful thinking or presumptious of the person saying that whatever they're referring to would be forever I guess.

certainly nothing lasts coz when you're dead...all the memories you have died with you!

but FOREVER does exist when taken it  more personally...."forever" to me is NOW and how  you treasure what constitutes your FOREVER is more important than how long you can keep them!

So? What is your forever then? Forever is now? What constitutes your forever? The play of words in your sentences is too difficult for my puny mind to understand.

Forever refers to the feeling at the moment... It is too much too contain that it can transcend to eternity. Your feeling at that moment is unfathomable and so is forever. It doesn't actually mean time... It is beyond time. It can fade, but at that moment, it was forever, it was too overflowing that the present nor the future can handle.
