What He Says: "my home phone is not working so call me on my cell."

What He Could Mean: "i don't want you calling my house."

What He Says: "My marriage is essentially over."

What He Could Mean: "I want to have an affair".

What He Says: "women are too picky."

What He Could Mean: "women don't like me."

What He Says: "i will have to check my schedule for next saturday."

What He Could Mean: "i'm waiting to see if a better offer comes along."........

It might not be related, but I heard it said that people always have 2 reasons for doing everything, a GOOD reason and the REAL reason.

addition:
I have a word to contribute to the sexism discussion -- and it's a word that refers to a man, not a woman! But, alas, it still diminishes the femail sex.

It's the word "husband", originally meaning master of the house. So one's husband is one's master!

In the Southern U.S., many people use y'all (you all), while on the coasts it's more often you guys (or youse guys). Also in use are people, peeps, folks, dudes and everybody.

Varient Forms of Words

In Norwegian, as in English, the forms of some words will vary according to how they
are used in a sentence.
Who---whose---whom or marry---marrries---married are examples in English with varient forms.
The endings of a word in a document may differ from those in this list, for example:

Mann - man Kone - wife
Mannen - the man Kona - the wife
Menn - men Koner - wives
Mennene - the men Konene - the wives
