Normalcy is what is acceptable to the eyes of the society. But sometimes, the kind environment a person was brought up to dictates normalcy to an individual. Cannibalism may be normal for some but not to all..

I like to think I'm normal.........but who knows?
The more I learn about people the more I like dogs

I think we are drawn to dogs because they are the uninhibited creatures we might be if we weren't certain we knew better. They fight for honor at the first challenge, make love with no moral restraint and are loyal.

Being Normal is like living an Abnormal life...

Normal I guess is just an excuse for mediocrity. You like to think that it's normal or you are normal to lead yourself believe that you are not alone because you are just too afraid to defend your own uniqueness. You tend to take what they say "the socially acceptable" on your side... for you to reason less. I believe, people who are normal are people who are afraid to accept change.

Normal is what the society dictates (or those "influencial people"), a way of manipulating people to make them believe that they are a minority and therefore, they are weak. For people to feel less worthy of living since they don't follow the crowd.

The common is not necessarily the right or the best thing.

Normal is indeed an illusion!

Totally disagree. You are trying to use such argument to justify of your being "unique." In fact, what and how exactly make you unique? I am sure there's always something common between two individuals..and these two among four people...and these four among MANY other people. And what you do in common is NORMAL.

Common is not necessarily normal... If many people have cancer- they have that in common... can you consider that normal? Everybody is different, everybody is unique. The difference arise from how people perceive stimuli. We react to the same stimulus differently. We are all different. Normal is just a suggestion of what is generally accepted but not generally occuring.

Such a very misleading example! :

1. We're talking about experiences or acts. EXAMPLE:

Granting that a group of people found that they've got cancers....it is just NORMAL that they'd feel afraid and feel depress!

Of course each of this individual is unique and ther is nothing to argument about it!

2. How could be normal merely "a suggestion of what is generally accepted but not generally occuring"??

now you need a lot of convincing to do!

1. Not all people with cancer feel afraid and feel depressed. Some of them accept it wholeheartedly and decide to be happy despite the situation. Or, initially, they are sad but eventually they try to live. While some people dis just thinking about it. A very big diffirence. Which is normal there then?

2. I can make a country and dictate that having no clothes is normal then it is! It is normal to me and to those who accept it but not to people living in other parts of the world.

I still need to refute:

1. It is true that not all people with cancer feel afraid and feel depressed....but certainly you won't feel PROUD AND HAPPY about ithe situation especially when you came to know about it, would you?

What does this mean??It means that it is NORMAL for these people to feel what is opposite!

SECONDLY, there are always DIFFERENCES to what is norm. You are normal in a sense that you feel something; now there is a difference between how you deal with those feelings!

question: Is it NORMAL to have different views on different situations?? Obviously, the answer is YES!

Apparently, I think you're trying to make a very good point under a wrong guise!

2. NORMAL is different from what is LAWFUL!

There is a difference between what is normal and what is natural. It is natural for people to feel differently form other people. But like you said in some sense, they also feel some sort of similarity- that is what they call the "normal". Furthermore, a person who wants to take his life can be happy if he is diagnosed with cancer since he will not be burdened of taking his own life... That's a possibility.

What is your normal reaction when you see a horrifying event? You feel horrified right? But not everybody feels that way, some may find pleasure in it. If most people find pleasure in it... then, the majority becomes the normal. So normal is just like a dictate of the majority or the influential. It is just a means of justifying without much reasoning.

So I'll ask you, why do you disagree? The best answer: That's normal!

Normal is definitely different from lawful, why did "lawful" came into play here anyway?

cancer victims accepting their fate wholeheartedly?! maybe you meant them learning how to live with the fact that they've got cancer. hehe.
