death defined: the permanent end of all life functions in an organism or part of an organism...

hmmm... one of the replies to a post reminded me of this question...

Death: A Prelude to eternity

Such a short word
So simple
Innocent, childlike
Yet so potent
As the sting of the scorpion
Brings fear to the heart
                Of the most hardened being
Too passionate a word
                Nothing could ever compare.
Such a short word
Yet so mysterious
It harbors the greatest of secrets
Puzzles the most brilliant of scientists
Remains unresolved
                To the greatest of debaters
Dazzles the most creative of artists.
Such a short word
Yet creates an impact
                Bigger than any meteor would
Wrecks havoc
                No nuke could ever duplicate
Obliterate dreams
No amount of waking could compare.
Such a short word
So ugly
                Yet beautiful
Brings about confusion
An understatement
                Yet an overstatement
An irony and a contradiction.
Such a short word
Yet makes you wonder
What really is death
It lies beyond the horizon of life
Way beyond human grasp
So misunderstood
Because no man has ever came back
                To tell the tale.
Death
What are you?
The start of a new beginning?
The end of everything?
Just you wait
I have started my journey
A journey towards you
A journey to know you
Death, here I come.
Living to die.
Dying to live.

The Great Beyond

I wonder why I'm fascinated with death.  I am fascinated with all things that come my way but nothing compares to death.  It is so mysterious.  Just think about it, why should life end with death?  Why can't we just go on living?  If life is such a beautiful sight to behold, why should death be so opposite.  Why must it  end in such a tragedy.  Tragedy?  Yes, people perceive death  as tragic especially the bereaved.  But then, why should we view death as such?  Why not see it in another light like how Nicholas Sparks painted it?

I admit that after reading Message in a Bottle i hated him and i still do.  I cried at the ending and ended up being depressed for weeks.  I still can say until now that if there is a book i regret reading it would be Message in a Bottle.  Until I saw the movie A Walk to Remember.  My perception has changed.  I now see death in a better light.  It isn't ugly at all.  Death is beautiful.

It is death that makes life beautiful, precious, ethereal: like a fragile chrystal high up in a pedestal, a blink of the eye between two eternities.  So how could we say that death is ugly when it shows us a thing of beauty called life.  Death is not ugly nor tragic, it is as beautiful as life.  Without death, life could never be beautiful.
“when it’s time to die, go ahead and die, and when it’s time to live, live. Don’t sort-of-maybe live, but live like you’re going all out, like you are not afraid.”

Death is a natural biological phenomenon. every lifeform on earth must go through this. in the long run, we will not matter anyway...

you know, we're like bubbles in a stream. when our bubbles pop, the stream goes on. that's the sucky part of being a human, some people are trying to be the stones in the stream, the saddest part is, no matter how hard we try, we will never be. Death is inevitable.

Death is when you're out of breath for eternity. A peaceful way to  take a good rest forever.

Here's another one, death is when your physical body is finally separated from your spirit.
Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.

Death is a constant reminder that we need to live. Without death, we will not be having goals, we will not be living life. Who wants to live forever? In my case, I dont' want to... Living forever would be pointless. If you know you have limited time, you tend to do what is proper... You tend to prioritize and treasure things...

Imagine having an assignment in school and the teacher said there is no deadline... Why make the assignment in the first place?

death is  starting anew life...

death means, you're free...
no one fall in love by choice it is by chance, no one stays in love by chance it is by work and no one fall out of love by chance it is by choice...

hmm...death, wasn't he in The Family Guy? if i recall, death was quite a pussy. he couldn't even get peter to go with him. he ended up spraining his ankle and had to rest on the griffin's sofa while it healed.

Right... just recently one of our young college instructors drowned. Condolences to his family, he was actually a relative. I prefer to remember him as our instructor who really liked using and abusing the word 'actually' that we'd count how many times he uses it in our classes.

I see some of you guys are planning on going to the beach later. Ingats sa paglangoy a.

Death is the event of departure from life.
