I held heaven once
I never thought I'd have the chance
It was so sudden
It seems like it didn't happen

Battles with my reality
Held me back from my sanity
The moment that I've been waiting
Passed me not knowing

Did I miss my chance?
Is it not destined to be forever in my hands?
Did I push it away?
Or I just let it go astray?

If I knew then what should have I done?
For it stay and me not regretting what has gone.
If it was lost, was I the cause?
Didn't know until it was all lost

just asking:    what meaning and impact do you intend to create when you use  "Never" and "If" towards the ending of this poem? 

I don't have to explain I guess... I just did it... It's there, then... bear with it!  O0

The proper question I guess is "what is the impact on you?" You have the answer.  O0

actually, the poem is good...  it seeped into me coz I remember an incident in my life which was similar to this poem's context...

Im just wondering if the "Never ellipsis means something would never be lost anyhow probably because it's locked in the memory..

and that "If" ellipsis means something that whatever is never to be lost could be lost  and erased by time or another  "heaven" stimulus for that matter... 

Brillant! Actually one reason why I put it that way is for readers at least to relate and end it the way they want it to be. We're the same with the "Never..." part, you read my mind. But with the "If..." part I'm thinking more of second chances. Like if it happens again, I'll do it differently. But anyway, I like your analogy.

someone says that life offers second chances....  i dont believe so since everything is a one-shot experience... it changes everyday.. It will be drab if everything is repeated then changing it... it would be as fantastic as butterfly effect...  the best way is to take each day and experience as an adventure, do you agree?

I definitely agree. Sometimes I think that life would be nice and simple if it is a game... You save it, and eventually when you screw up, you reload it in the saved spot. Definitely we all know that we can be better the second time around. On the other hand, maybe it'll be boring.

I just wish that we can know what is important, that when an oppurtunity comes, we know it's worth so we can make the best of it. Sometimes we make the wrong choices... The most important things in life are mostly the ones taken for granted. When the moment slips away then we will be saying "If..." again.

I would be nice that when we hold heaven in our hands, we will not be making any mistakes for it to slip away or disappear.

i like the way you guys exchange your views. it makes me think that both of you are old, sorry i don't know how to make it more sound pleasing. what's wrong with being old anyway. don't it mean more wisdom? or was it knowledge? whatever it is, to me being old is good! well, i am old hehehe...

talking about age, does it matter when you realize you're wrong on something else you're doing? i mean, realizing it when you're young means, you still have time to fix it. well, if you're old at least you make peace with yourself but do you think it's kind of too late?

old or young, nothing is too late as long as you're living.. even the "dying" has its moments of redemption and repentance... 

I prefer the word "experienced" hehehe. I grow old eveyday. It doesn't matter, all of us do. I look younger than my age they tell me, but I know its crap hehehe. To tell you the truth, I'm "batang isip" hehehe.
