I believe that my existence here on earth is not an accident, i was created fearfully and wonderfully by my Creator through my creators....
God has a plan and a reason for my existence,. it began 2000 years ago by sending His only son to die in my place at the cross of calvary to die because od my sins and the sins of the world, and that if I believe with all my heart and have that forgiveness God offers through His son Jesus Christ then i can have true personal relationship with Him, this is the original plan of God for creation.. He longs for relationship,.. but because of sin, people haven't have relationship with the Father...
but, thanks God for His grace.... He made a way through His Son..

I am living in GRACE, yeah, His grace still abounds.!
and i am saved through that grace....

SALVATION.... is free, it is all offerred for all of us!!!
in fact, today is the day of salvetion, do not delay it for tomorrow may not come.
We are free up to the point of choice then the choice controls the chooser....

GOD is the creator of every creation.... through Him and for Him we exist.

Believing in God/ Faith in Him comes by hearing and hearing His words.... how can you believe one, that you have not heard and how can one hear if no one will be sent................

Where does faith come from?
Does it come from the belief of previous people before you?
Why do u believe that there is a God?
what was your basis for believing that God does exist?

An educator once said that faith must not be blind faith...it must be critical faith

Where does faith come from?.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing the words of God... it means to say we have part to do, because everyone has his own faith, but there is a saving faith that comes through the grace of God that can be found through His words....

Does it come from the belief of previous people before you?.

Though salvation is individual, the belief of people before us can make a great impact to our faith..., but we have to know that salvation is individual..

Why do u believe that there is a God?
.

when i have heard His words and read it myself... my heart was resolved that truly He exist...

what was your basis for believing that God does exist?.

Creation... nature itself shows that there is an infinite who created the heave and earth...
Believing is a substance for the things we hope for...
it is just a simple prayer away.... Do you exist God.... then i wnt to experience you, and this is great from our God, HE REVEALS hIMSELF TO people who come to Him by heart...

...

"because we cannot explain creation, we tend to explain everything with a "God" "

Is God the by product of the limitations of the human mind to explain things?

Did humans create the concept of God to satify their longing for the explanation of things?

Because our ancestors before did not understand the birth of twins, they would explain this by saying that one of them is the child of an Anito and hence, they would bury the child. But of course, we now know the science behind twins and we no longer believe in the child-of-an-anito concept.

If nature/creation was our proof of Gods existence, is it so because we cannot fully explain nature/creation?

The only thing that i can answer about your question is FAITH.... in GOD and HIS words.... because if you have that, HIS words will then become the Final authority....., it explains about creation and stuffs like that... like our purpose of existence, the plan of GOD for creation, the fall of man and the SALVATION that He offers...

Besides... GOD's existence should'T be questioned,.. whether you believe it or not HE anyway EXIST...... it is not HIS lose being believed or not, we are at lose and LOST if we deny HIS existence.

CREATION and NATURE can be known and can be explained if you knew the CREATOR....

....a question of the existence of God.....can we then also question the existence of satan....Questioning the existence of a Creator is merely questioning life itself....we just can't rely on science alone coz there are things which science cannot explain....i mean, have we ever wonder why there is life, there is wonderful world, there are our family, our friend, and love....and have we also wonder why there's death, war, jealousy, enemy, there's chaos....this would probably explains the existence of the 2 forces...period
...in life there"s only one guarantee
you won't always have your feet on the ground
...coz we all fall down

There are things that cannot be explained becuase they simply must not be explained. FAITH is all you need. Questioning them is questioning yourself. You will never find the answer until you BELIEVE...

the last 2 posts will lead us back to reply with the proposition that "because of the limitations of the human mind (as manifested by things u/science cant explain) and because of our longing for meaning, we create the concept of God"

Faith so far has been discussed as something absolute...not critical. It also becomes clear that no matter how we discuss these topics, either scientifically or philosophically, we will be faced with a big wall called "faith".

Where have our faith grown from? is it because your parents believed since birth that u also believe? Did u ever try to at least question church teachings and ask "why"?

i may grew up in a christian community and i sometimes question some teaching(note teachings).i even question my dad's...but never did i question the bible .because all of my question and answers leads me back to the word of God.....
being a christian depends on your faith..if you allow it to grow, let it be stagnat, uprooted or die...
faith is like a plant...take good care of it, water it, expose to sunlight, apply some fertilizer....
no one fall in love by choice it is by chance, no one stays in love by chance it is by work and no one fall out of love by chance it is by choice...

yeah... right, but it is nice to talk about these things xolang..... we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ one day and whether we have chance to see each other in this life or not, at least we have the chance to talk about things that will last,. am glad i can write about my faith that everyone here can read, i cannot boast of anything else other than knowing CHRIST....
Faith and salvation is individual, you cannot answer for your parents and so for them to you.... God'S plan of salvation to mankind is for all times... yesterday, today and forever.... HE made possible for us to have relationship with HIM through our LORD JESUS CHRIST dying for your sin and my sins through death at the cross, accepting and believing for what HE has done for us and making HIM our Lord and Saviour in our life.... by doing this, our faith in HIM will grow.....that would start relationship with the Father....
the good news.... we are all sinners, but Christ paid our sins that you and me can have eternal life,
He loves you Xolang more than you think......

Thanks for all the replies.

Imho, all the above has so far been focused on blind faith. believing at once....blindly and impatiently. Faith is not impatient. Faith, at least for me, is something u need to feel, incorporate and experience. It does not come from the words of a pastor who declares that God is all good and that you need to submit to this God. It does not come from the practices of your parents or friends who have called on you for a "fellowship". It does not come from the media where faith is sensationalized. It does not merely say that one loves God and that he is important. How can one say that he has faith and that he believes when he has not done good to his fellow men?

It comes from experience of the day to day living. It grows from the good deeds you sow into the lives of your fellow men. One may say he loves God but does not put this in action. It is not something abstract...It is concrete. It comes from raising the question about what we ought to be, what we ought to do.

We cannot afford to just believe, we were made as skeptic beings, and hence it becomes natural for us to seek answers in concrete and almost tangible ways.

This was the answer I was waiting for...critical faith.

....hahahaha...your question was "do you believe in God"...well of course they would answer they rilly believe coz this is what they we're taught and this is what they believe in the first place...we were made skeptics yeah right but maybe they have found the truth within themselves so thus they believed...there are things on earth that are not or cannot explain by science or things which are not tabgible and concrete but they're there...bottomline is everybody's entitled on its own faith, no matter what kind of faith they have its theirs like yours and mine....maybe you should have asked "what kind of faith you have or how can we define faith or does faith rilly matter".... ;D

thANks for telling what you are expecting for.... but with heavenly love i want to let you know that you should have not asked something that you think...... YOU KNOW THE ANSWER and don'T consider others opinion..... ...... CHRISTIANITY and BELIEVING in GOD is not about matters of how MUCH we know, but of how much we apply them in our lives..... because people remembers best how much you CARE, its not how MUCH you know... a faith without an action is dead, and faith only comes by hearing and hearing the word of GOD, not the faith that you claim coming from yourself...................

yes you are right FAITH is to be experienced and be practced in our life, and it shows how we relate to our fellow men........... because FAITH/POWER without CHARACTER is LUCIFER.....

but that faith has to be started in a good foundation, what is the best foundation..... tell me???
i wanna say it again with brotherly LOVE... it comes from the word of GOD............... and from there it shows in your life, "you will know them by their fruits...."

I was not saying I was right nor was I saying that you or anyone was wrong. I was expecting an answer (or more correctly and OPINION) that may matched mine. it turns out, so far, that there is none. Anyway, God's existence or non-existence is something we cannot prove or disprove (there are claims of proof but these are still very personal claims) at the moment. We cant say someone is right or wrong, at least for this topic. Hence, we are here to share what we think and try to support our belief with something (it may be scientific, philisophical or spiritual), and try to dig deeper into others beliefs...try to ask questions about what is questionable, get answers, and thus learn. I asked questions to get more ideas/philosophies/beliefs from fellow forumers so that we can start with something. Many topics here start with questions, some questions the author already knows, by his own belief, the answer. Yet it does not mean that he/she are right or wrong.

My dear friends, asking questions, getting answers from different people, and then asking supporting questions is a process of learning. that is the very essence of this forum, right? As said, we are here to learn, not to mudsling. We are able to share our thoughts yet respecting each others opinion. Thats why we like forums.

As the heat here continues, mr.moderators, I kindly request a "recess" of this topic, or even a closure. Anyway, we already got enough points here with their supporting statements. I'll stick to my last post prior this as my last opinion on the subject. We learned much. We can have other threads for other sub-topics so that we dont get off the current topic that much. Thanks.
