TITLE:Â Â Â CLIMB 2008
THEME:Â Â Â “Towards Environmental Excellence….and Beyond”
DESCRIPTION:Â Â A non-organizational, non-sectarian, non-political, 3-day Open Invitational Environmental Mountain Biking Expedition.
MECHANICS:
 This event is an open invitation to all interested participants in Benguet and Baguio. It aims to send a message to residents of Benguet and nearby places of Ilocos Sur regards healthy lifestyle and environmental consciousness. It also aims to showcase the other places of Benguet through a leisurely biking expedition.

The biking expedition begins at La Trinidad, Municipal Basketball Court for the first day (May 02, 2008). The participants shall take Halsema highway going to Mankayan, Benguet then to Cervantes, Ilocos Sur and finally, Quirino, Ilocos Sur. A short environmental lecture will take place upon arrival to promote environmental consciousness and protection. On the second day (May 03, 2008), participants will visit “Tirad Pass” where Gregorio Del Pilar died then proceed to “Besang Pass” where Filipinos and Americans fought the Japanese During World War II, and finally to Poblacion, Cervantes, Ilocos Sur where participants will spend the night. Another environmental lecture takes place upon arrival. On the last day of the expedition (May 03, 2008), participants shall take a bus ride going to Sayangan, Atok, Benguet and from there, bike their way to La Trinidad, Municipal Basketball Court. This is the finish line of the expedition where another environmental lecture shall take place.
 Through out the duration of the race, Red Cross (Benguet Chapter) will be part of the event for Medical Assistance. A communication group will also be joining the event to enhance monitoring of the participants and Camp Dangwa expressed their support by providing police assistance. Even Mayors Clifford Patil-ao of Quirino and Mayor Benjamin Maggay of Cervantes expressed support by hosting the participants and providing them a place to rest during the expedition. There will be a convoy(sweepers) joining the group so in case some participants get tired along the way, they may ride our vehicles just enough to rest then may bike again

***Deadline of submission of forms and fees will be on May 1, 2008 (until 12nn only) so final head count and shopping of supplies will be made.
